PCI Compliance
Many of you may have heard the term “PCI Compliance” lately...what exactly is PCI Compliance and how does it affect you?

PCI stands for Payment Card Industry and compliance refers to the Data Security Standards (combined PCI DSS) that is a set of requirements for maintaining a secure environment particularly for the storage of sensitive credit card information. The requirements apply to all organizations that accept, transmit, or store any cardholder data for credit cards or debit cards. For additional information visit https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/security_standards/pci_dss.shtml

We are currently developing an interface to be used with Authorize.net’s CIM (Customer Information Manager) program. Using CIM will enable our clients to store their agent credit card information on the Authorize.net secure servers meeting the PCI compliance regulations. The agent’s payment profile ID will be stored on DPN in lieu of the sensitive credit card information. The payment profile ID does not contain any sensitive information and will be the piece transmitted in the file to Authorize.net for processing the agent charges. The credit card module will work in much the same way as it currently does, allowing you to create files for charges based on all open items for agents with credit cards, specific fees based on code, or manually flagging the items to be submitted. The files for the CIM program will be transmitted using XML with the Authorize.net web service interface.

If you would like more information on changing your existing credit card module to the Authorize.net CIM program or would like to begin using the credit card module with the new program, please contact Barb Kutil at bkutil@lwolf.com or 800.955.3282 Extn 224.
