Consider Importing New Sales into DPN
Previous newsletters have placed emphasis on maximizing staff efficiency and eliminating paper within your daily business routine. Entering the new sales into DPN represents a significant portion of your data entry time, not to mention that most clients obtain the details of the new sale in paper format. Solutions are available to import the sale from transaction management platforms or to effectively transfer the data entry responsibilities from your back office accounting personnel to the branch office staff.

Importing the sale data is accomplished through the Contract Importer with files provided by transaction management platforms or any source that captures the basic sale information effectively eliminating redundant data entry.

Transferring the data entry responsibilities to the branch office staff uses eContract for web data entry of the sales information. Parameters allow you to define the required information before a sale is considered “complete” activating the button to send the sale to the back office new sales edit file for approval and updating into DPN. eContract’s tab structure allows the user to easily navigate and quickly access the information they need to complete the sale. Unlike the back office, eContract does not require the user to move through the fields in a specific order and complete the sale before allowing them to save the data. Because branch office staff are often interrupted, eContract lends itself to use in this atmosphere.

Both venues rely on centralized accounting personnel to correctly identify the accounting period to be affected by the new sales and to actually perform the edit/update – confirming accuracy as if they had entered the data themselves. The Contract Importer or eContract simply remove the need to submit paper to centralized accounting and the need for accounting staff to spend time on data entry and/or chasing down sale details.
