Please ensure you update your program from our website before processing your first payroll in 2010, and before you print your tax slips.  This will ensure you have all the latest statutory updates. 

Once you have updated, the first time you cut cheques for employees in 2010, you will be prompted to automatically update the employees with the previous year's basic amounts to the current year rates.

Only employees with the basic amounts will be updated.  Any employees that had overridden amounts will need to complete a new TD1 form and be manually updated on the Payroll screen in I.1.1.

T4/T4A Tips: If you are issuing T4's and T4A's, the business number does not print on all copies. The instructions on the back of the T4A forms specify that you should not print your Business Number on the recipient copies.

Tax Slip Preparation Tips: If you are printing your T4A's (9.5.4), and nothing shows up for Fees Deducted, go into E.1.3 and make sure that your fees have YES in the Deduct from T4A's field.  Then double check your Options have been setup correctly (9.5.4, Options button in the bottom left hand corner).    For a detailed report to match to your agent tax slips, please print 9.5.7.

E-Filing: This year Canada Revenue Agency has specified that if you have more than 50 T4's or more than 50 T4A's to file, they must be done via e-filing.  However, you still have to generate forms to give to your agents/employees, and therefore will have to order forms from CRA.

The RMS program will only print on the government forms, not PDF's printed from the government website.  Click here to order your forms.
