• Edit Date Parameters – check to be sure your accounting periods extend into the new year
• Payroll – please be sure to email jennifer@dpn.com to let her know the date you will be doing your last payroll of 2009 and your first payroll of 2010 – she must change your tax tables AFTER the final payroll of 2009 and BEFORE the first payroll of 2010
• 1099 Reporting – start preparing by running the out of balance reports
• Financial Analyst – check and update the calendar settings for the coming year
• Prepare for your fiscal year end close by
• Confirming your retained earnings GL account is correct in every company
• Checking the chart of accounts to be sure all accounts are set correctly
• Check the Balance Sheet Settings
• All Balance Sheet accounts must be Y – they will not roll into retained earnings with the fiscal year close
• All P & L accounts must be N – they will roll into retained earnings with the fiscal year close
• Check Schedule Codes
• Y/N/S is applicable on balance sheet accounts – schedule activity will remain unaffected
• D is applicable ONLY on income/expense accounts – schedule activity will clear from the new year schedule
