Canadian Payroll The Realty Management System (RMS) has the ability to submit T4's and T4A's via Magnetic Media. Instructions for generating T4 and T4A amounts can be found in the Canadian Staff Payroll option 9.5.3 and 9.5.4 in the Help menu. There is also a T4A tutorial found on our website www.lwolf.com under the Video Tutorials section of the support page. When you go into 9.5.3/9.5.4, there is a Magnetic Media button in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. When you click on Magnetic Media, you may be prompted to enter your company’s business number. If so, this needs to be entered in the Company Profile (E.1.1.MISC1), in the Payroll # field. The format for the payroll number is #########RP#### (9 digits, RP, 4 digits). You may also be prompted to download a MSXML driver. You must say Yes to this prompt in order for the Magnetic Media option to work. When you click on Yes, you will be directed to our website and the driver download will automatically begin. Your anti-virus or firewall software may require you to authorize the download of this file. Then you will be prompted to enter the Company and Contact Info including the Transmitter Number. If you are a current Magnetic Media transmitter, use the MM number that has already been assigned to you by Revenue Canada. If you are new transmitter, call 1-800-665-5164, for information on obtaining your transmitter number. The transmitter number format is MM###### (MM followed by six digits). You will then be prompted for a directory to save the file. You can save it to your hard drive and move it later, or you can save it directly to the media you are sending. After you select the target directory, click on Select. Then the name of the file created will be displayed on the screen, it is a good idea to jot down the path and file name for future reference.
