Lone Wolf prides itself on offering you the richest functional set of software and services available. As our developers build out new technologies and as our client base and web traffic increases, this puts huge demands on our infrastructure and the demand for capacity. A significant challenge for any company in growth or in expansion mode is meeting and staying ahead of its capacity demands. Last fall, Lone Wolf assembled a team internally and a number of outside technology experts to look into our requirements and design an infrastructure to meet our clients' needs.

Throughout this process, we had several goals in mind. These included:

• The ability to build out capacity on demand without interruption to our client
• Offer the best possible performance for our applications
• Ensure that the environment was fully scalable
• Implement an agile infrastructure capable of addressing new client demands in a rapid fashion.

In addition, we had a number of immediate requirements intended to protect our business and your data. These included:

• The establishment of a second fully functional data centre for disaster recovery and high availability
• Fully redundant servers
• Network equipment
• Software in each data centre
• Equipment and new practices to secure the environment
• Enhanced back and recovery applications to protect the data

The work began in December and most of the heavy lifting is now complete.

What did we do?
At the root of our infrastructure are eight high capacity Servers, four located in each of our two data centers. These servers are supported by a three tier storage architecture consisting of Lefthand Networks and HP SAN technologies totaling nineteen terabytes of storage capacity. The infrastructure is tied together with a fully redundant network utilizing high capacity HP ProCurve Switches and Routers and multiple ISP providers representing 9 of the top 10 Layer three providers. On a daily basis, we are able to replicate up to 130GB of data between sites and as with all the other components mentioned above, this can be increased on demand. As a summary for those not too technically inclined, we added some major grade "A" beef to our menu.

What does this mean for RMS Hosted Clients?
Near the end of May, we began rolling out the hosting servers for the RMS environment which dramatically improved performance and throughput for our customers using RMS as a hosted service. Our commitment to our RMS customers going forward is to never exceed 50% of the capacity of any server thereby always ensuring the best possible performance even through month and year end processing. Since the implementation started, we have had zero reports of slowness from customers using the new servers.
